Mr. Christoph Mikulaschek joined IPI as a Program Officer in May 2007, conducting research on the implementation of international norms and the role of international institutions in conflict management. He is working on the Understanding Compliance with Security Council Resolutions project, which involves a qualitative and quantitative review of compliance with all Security Council Resolutions adopted after the Cold War in the context of civil wars.

Before joining IPI, Christoph spent two years with the Vienna law firm Agstner & List, specializing in administrative, constitutional, and international law. As an associate, he represented clients before the federal supreme Administrative Court and federal Courts of Appeal. In 2001 and 2002, Christoph worked at the OSCE Kosovo Law Centre and managed and consulted two NGO peacebuilding projects in Kosovo. Between 1999 and 2000, he worked at the Austrian Defense Academy, a division of the Ministry of Defense.

Christoph holds a law degree from the University of Vienna, with a specialization in public international law, and a Masters’ degree in international affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, with a specialization in international security policy. He also obtained graduate certificates in international affairs and international law from the Université Paris II Panthéon Assas and the Institut des Hautes Etudes internationales in Paris.
