Vanessa Hawkins Wyeth

Ms. Vanessa Hawkins Wyeth joined IPI in February 2004, working on post-conflict statebuilding and peacebuilding. She serves as co-editor on IPI’s forthcoming volume Building States to Build Peace.
Vanessa arrived at IPI after spending a year in Kosovo working with the UN Population Fund, having previously consulted for UNFPA in New York. She spent several months with the Centre for Conflict Management in Butare, Rwanda, where she was a researcher on the gacaca tribunals. She has also spent several years as an economic consultant in the private sector.
Vanessa holds a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University, with a concentration in human rights and conflict resolution and a regional focus on Africa. She holds a BA in International Relations from Boston University. She has traveled to over 65 countries, and has lived in Niger, Rwanda and Kosovo.
