Jilla Moazami

Executive Assistant to the President | moazami@ipinst.org

Jilla Moazami, a native of Iran and longtime resident of France, joined IPI in 2000 as Assistant to the President. As the principal liaison between the President's office, IPI board members, and staff, she manages the day to day affairs of the President's office, as well as the annual board meeting and dinner.

Before joining IPI, Jilla worked for several years at French-European Publications, Inc., in New York. In France, she held positions with the Iranian Center for Documentation and Research, the Women's Refugee Association, the Ecumenical Aid Society, Association for the Victims of Repression in Exile, Andisheye Rahai (a Persian language quarterly review), and the Committee to Defend Iranian Refugees. In Iran, she taught French at the Iranzamin International School.

Jilla has an MA in Islamic Civilizations and Cultures from the Institut National des Langues et Civilizations Orientales, Paris and a Diplome d'Etudes Approfondies in ethnology with high honors from the Université Pantheon-Sorbonne. Her BA is in Archaeology from Tehran University. She has partially completed a doctoral dissertation on contemporary Middle Eastern history for the Sciences Historiques et Philologiques, Université Paris-Sorbonne. She speaks fluent Persian, French, and English.
