On October 18-19th, IPI co-organized a meeting of troop- and police-contributing countries in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with the Pearson Peacekeeping Center (PPC), ISIS Malaysia, and the Asia-Pacific Civil-Military Centre of Excellence.

The Way Forward For MONUSCO
One year ago, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 1925, which extended the UN mandate in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and renamed the mission "the UN Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO)" to reflect the trend toward increased peace consolidation and ensuring the long-term protection of civilians.

IPI Hosts Launch of Joint IPI-PPC "Being a Peacekeeper" Series
The International Peace Institute, in partnership with the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC), has just begun a series of events to bring together existing, emerging, and potential troop- and police-contributing countries in an informal setting to allow for an open and candid exchange of experiences.
About This Project
For nearly forty years, IPI has been at the forefront of making peacekeeping more reliable and effective. From the training of UN peacekeeping troops in the 1970s, to the current work on multidimensional peace operations, IPI aims to deepen the understanding of peacekeeping missions around the world and to develop policy ideas for their success.
