IPI SRSG Series: Martti Ahtisaari

IPI was pleased to organize the latest event in our SRSG Series entitled "The Future Status of Kosovo and the UN." This event featured Mr. Martti Ahtisaari, the Secretary-General's Special Envoy for the future status process for Kosovo. Mr. Ahtisaari spoke about the latest developments in the status process and his recommendations to the UN Security Council on how to reach a sustainable future in Kosovo.

IPI organized the latest event its "SRSG Series" which featured Mr. Ian Martin, the Secretary-General's Special Representative in Nepal and Head of the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN). Mr. Martin spoke about the challenges of the rapidly evolving peace process in Nepal and the role of United Nations.

More than fifty senior police and military officers from African countries and partner nations and organizations convened in Accra, Ghana, from October 10th-12th, at the invitation of the the International Peace Institute for a “lessons-learned” seminar on the African Mission in Darfur (AMIS).

Tom Koenigs, Special Representative for Afghanistan and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), kicked-off the IPA SRSG Series. This event, entitled Afghanistan at the Cross-Roads, addressed current challenges to peacebuilding and statebuilding in Afghanistan.
