IPA’s Middle East program organized a Policy Forum on “The Middle East: Politics, Petrol and Prophets.”
IPA organized a one-day, focused workshop on “Reviewing the Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Apparatus.” The workshop, hosted in cooperation with the Center on Global Counter-Terrorism Cooperation, brought together experts from UN Member States, UN Secretariat officials and leading academic and non-governmental experts to address the role of the Security Council and its counter-terrorism-related subsidiary bodies in the global fight against terrorism.

IPA organized the latest event in our “SRSG Series,” entitled Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding in Liberia. The event featured Mr. Alan Doss, the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Liberia and Coordinator of UN Operations in Liberia. Mr. Doss spoke about current challenges to peacekeeping and peacebuilding in Liberia.
At a recent reception, IPA launched its latest book, The UN Secretariat: A Brief History, written by Dr. Thant Myint-U and Dr. Amy Scott.

Mr. Schori reflected on his two year term and spoke about the current challenges to peacekeeping and peacebuilding in Côte d’Ivoire.

Dr. David Malone, Canada’s High Commissioner to India and non-resident Ambassador to Nepal and Bhutan, and Mr. James Traub, contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine. The evening was an opportunity to celebrate the publication of their most recent books.
